Dr Phil Watts is an adjunct associate professor in Clinical Psychology and endorsed in Forensic Psychology. He is the director of a busy private practice in Western Australia. He has over 35 years experience.

He conducts assessments of offenders and victims of crime, has been a court appointed Child Custody Evaluator in in over 2500 cases, conducts Care and Protection assessments, and assesses offenders. He has wide interests from ranging from violence and sexual risk to trauma and neurobiological interventions.

Dr Watts has published 7 books, three well known titles in the family law space in Australia - Shared Care and Divided Lives: What’s Best for Children When Parents Separate (2nd edition, 2024); How to Find Love and Not a Psycho (2020) and Surviving the Witness Box: Expert Opinion in Court (2021).

He has conducted workshops and training on many different topics in Australia, New Zealand, Uk, USA, and South Africa. There are too many to list but includes true and false accounts of sexual abuse, internet pornography and other addictions, expert evidence, the voice of the child, and alienation. He has trained thousands of practitioners in both introductory and advanced workshops on the PAI across Australia and New Zealand, as well as in the UK. He is known for his humour and dynamic presentation style.
