Ray W. Christner, PsyD, NCSP, is the president and CEO of Cognitive Health Solutions in Hanover, Pennsylvania, where he provides clinical services as a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist. In addition to his administrative and clinical work, Dr. Christner provides ongoing consultation with school districts on school-based mental health services and effective psychological evaluation practices. He received his master’s degree and certification in school psychology from California University of Pennsylvania. He received a master’s degree and doctor of psychology degree in clinical psychology from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Christner is a licensed psychologist and a certified school psychologist in Pennsylvania, a nationally certified school psychologist, and a nationally registered health service psychologist. He is a recognized and accomplished clinician, author, editor, and presenter at local, state, national, and international levels. He has authored or edited numerous books, chapters, and articles on psychological assessment, cognitive–behavior therapy, school-based mental health, and the training of mental health professionals. He has been an invited speaker for more than 150 presentations. Dr. Christner served as the founding editor of School Psychology Forum: Research in Practice, a peer-reviewed journal for the National Association of School Psychologists, and he has been an ad hoc reviewer for several journals. His current work is on cognitive–behavior therapy with various populations, brief care models in mental health, and using test data for appropriate diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and progress monitoring.
