This training is intended to help providers and their billing support staff better understand which CPT codes are appropriate based on services rendered and how many units of codes are allowed. Dr. Fleck will share about her experience being audited so colleagues can do their best to avoid their own audits.

Attendees will solidify their understanding of the neuropsychological and psychological testing code changes that occurred in 2019. The training will review the most used CPT codes for testing and explore what each means and when it should be used. Attendees will also gain familiarity with how to use CPT codes together and when to put them on claims; we will also review what a typical claim through a private insurance company might look like. Attendees will feel confident in their estimate of units to bill as well as limitations to what private insurance covers for testing.

Finally, attendees will better understand the audit process and some common reasons that psychologists and their practices are audited. We will review ways to minimize audit risk and what might need to be documented for testing.
