The Assessment of Emotional Disturbance and Trauma in Schools: A Case Study Example

This webinar explores emotional disturbance and trauma and how it impacts children in the school setting. We will investigate the structure of the Emotional Disturbance Decision Tree (EDDT) and the Feifer Assessment of Childhood Trauma (FACT) and how to use these assessments. The speakers will present a case study example and explain interventions.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the history and definition of emotional disturbance (ED) and trauma.
  • Explain the structure of the EDDT and its value in assessing the presence or absence of ED.
  • Explore the structure and value of using the FACT to understand the mental health and academic impact of trauma on students.
  • Evaluate the real-world application of the EDDT and FACT through a case study.
