With the increasing need for assessment resources in different languages, particularly Spanish in the United States, a key objective practitioners should strive for is to be able to conduct fair and equitable assessments of non-native English speakers and multilingual learners. This webinar will touch on critical considerations for our Spanish-speaking English learner population, including data analysis and interpretation skills. We will discuss pitfalls to avoid as well as Spanish-language assessments resources.

Explain the importance of screening Spanish-speaking ELs.
Describe dangerous practices that attempt to correct inequitable categorical outcomes.
Identify equitable assessment practices that allow for nonbiased data analysis and interpretation skills.
Identify Spanish-language assessments available from PAR and be able to navigate the website to locate Spanish-language assessments and resources.
